Multi Currency Store

Everything you need to get up and running with our Multi Currency Store plugin!

Plugin Settings

The plugin adds a new tab to Woocommerce's setting where you will find the settings for the plugin and where you can add the additional currencies that you want to your store.

Navigate to Woocommerce > Settings and you will see the new Multi Currency tab.

The Multi Currency tab contains two sections within it.  The first section - Multi Currency Options - contains general settings for the plugin. The second section - Additional Currencies - contains the additional currencies that you have added to your store.  This section is discussed in detail in the currencies documentation.

General settings

Enable Multi Currency
The Enabled setting allows you to enable or disable multiple currencies in your store. By default the setting is not set, so if you are activating the plugin for the first time, this setting will need to be set for the additional currencies that you have added to your store to show.

The setting allows you to disable multiple currencies from showing in your store but keep the other functionality that the plugin provides - such as fetching the live exchange rates - active, whereas deactivating the plugin would stop this functionality.

Setting the Visitors Currency (GeoIP)
When a customer visits your store, you have the option of automatically setting their currency by enabling the Enable GeoIP setting.

With this setting enabled, the plugin will first try to determine the visitors country based on their IP address. Once the visitors country has been determined, the plugin will then find the associated currency for that country. If you have added that currency to your store, the plugin will automatically set the currency for that visitor so they will see prices in their local currency immediately. If the visitors currency has not been added to your store, the plugin will show prices in your stores base currency.

Similarly, if this setting has not been enabled, the plugin will show prices for all visitors in your stores base currency.

This setting only takes affect for customers who visit your store for the first time and don't have a currency set. If you give visitors the option of choosing which currency they view prices in by using the currency switcher widget, then whichever currency is saved for that visitor will be set for them when they return to your store.

Exchange rate settings

The Multi Currency Options section also contains settings for the Exchange Rate source. These settings are outlined in details in the Exchange Rates documentation.
